Our Capacity
IDS-AFRICA performed construction and welding of all 12 boilers on the both Medupi and Kusile power plants with a weld defect repair rate of less than 1% achieving a piping progress success rate of 345% on the Medupi plant.

Community Development
We lead from the front when it comes to transformation. We’ve taken it upon ourselves to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty in the complicated plant engineering space, knowing very well that by so doing we are opening the ways, and sector, for others who come behind us.
One of our projects in the past years has been to open our recruitment processes to include young female engineers and include them into the; IDS-AFRICA ACADEMY.
Additionally, We are also pursuing ways to partner with established Technical and Vocational education institutions (TVETS) so that we tap into the passion our female engineers have when they’re still young. Our management is also in the process of establishing the IDS-AFRICA Scholarship for Engineers, which will reward outstanding performances in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.
Communities around Lephalale remain our immediate partners. We engage them to ensure we’re directly rooted in their social activities.

Furthermore, job creation is a high priority, we source and train some of our engineers from the immediate communities. This is followed by intense capacity building and skills transfer that ensures local workers are also in contention for leadership opportunities.
